Spring Release for Grand Theft Auto IV
And if you've read our latest preview, you know that's a good thing.
After months of silence on anything related to Grand Theft Auto IV, Rockstar is rushing ahead again in the build up to the game's release.
Rockstar recently granted access to a select group of publications for a look at how far the game has come since it was last showed during 2007. The consensus reached in our extensive Grand Theft Auto IV preview and those of other publications was that the game was essentially done, a view confirmed today by the announcement of the game's worldwide release date.
The company said on Thursday that Grand Theft Auto IV will arrive for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 29 April.
Rockstar founder Sam Houser said the company is "so excited" to be releasing the game.
"We've pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment," he said.
Grand Theft Auto IV is the first game in the popular series for the new wave of consoles. The game tells the story of Niko, an Eastern European who arrives in Rockstar's fictional take on New York City looking for his slice of the America dream.
