Burnout Paradise Takes Down Chart Rivals
But Mario & Sonic's Olympics game is still staying strong.
Burnout Paradise is not only the top game in the UK this week, it's also the first new entry to make it to the coveted spot in its first weekend since the middle of November, when Assassin's Creed started its run on top.
But while EA brought its big racer out to play, there was little else new to entice buyers this week. The remainder of the chart includes many familiar faces, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and both of Nintendo's Brain Training games for the DS.
Despite the overall victory, Burnout Paradise was not the most popular game on an individual format. That honour falls to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii, which managed to stay ahead of both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions of the EA racer.
