Spring Release for Persona 3 in Europe
Hang on to that PlayStation 2, RPG fans.
Fans of RPGs have become accustomed to waiting for developers to catch up with new hardware, so there's been little in the way of role-playing games on the PlayStation 3 so far. The PlayStation 2, however, will soon play host to one of the most popular RPGs in recent memory.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 was released in mid-2006 in Japan and a year later in the US. This spring the widely acclaimed game finally makes its way to Europe.
Persona 3 is set in modern-day Japan, a contemporary setting that is given a metaphysical twist through the introduction of nasty creatures called Shadows that feed on the living. You play the teenaged hero of the game who is destined to battle the Shadows and save his school.
It's not all about combat, though, and during the course of the game, players will be able to experience Japanese high-school life and bond with similarly powered classmates, all while uncovering the secrets of the shadows.
The game has been received well in its previous releases, earning several awards in 2007.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 will be out for the PlayStation 2 on 29 March.
