Arcade-Style Boxing in EA's Facebreaker
Peter Moore wants you to play his new, less-realistic boxing game. First screen.
Having already taken the crown in the realistic boxing arena with the critically lauded Fight Night series, EA has announced that it's turning its attention to fighting of a more forgiving kind.
The appropriately named Facebreaker is a new arcade-style boxer in development at EA's studio in Canada. Phrases such as "irreverent fun" and "eye-popping stylized graphics" feature prominently in EA's announcement of the game, so expect an attitude filled game that focuses on the lighter side of the sport.
The roster is filled with colourful characters such as Romeo, a pelvis-thrusting Italian stallion, and demolition man Molotov. You'll even be able to climb into the game yourself using a digital photo and some fiddling in the Photo Game Face mode.
"Arcade boxing takes me back to my roots in this industry," EA's (formerly Microsoft's) Peter Moore said in a statement, "and this game signals our shift to adding more approachable fun to our product lineup."
Facebreaker is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii later this year.
