Silent Hill Origins Jumps From PSP to PS2
Konami promises a few upgrades in the new version of the thriller. First screens.
The rapid-fire criss-cross of games jumping between the PSP and the PlayStation 2 is continuing apace in 2008 with the news that Konami is bringing last year's Silent Hill game for the portable to Sony's home console.
Silent Hill Origins tells the story of a trucker named Travis Grady who is confronted with his past after being stranded in the strange town. The game serves as a prequel to the main series, touching on some of the strands that perplexed players of the previous games in the series.
Konami says that the PlayStation 2 version of the game will be an upgrade from last year's portable version, bringing cleaner graphics to the console. For the most part, though, the game will stick to the meat of what made the PSP version a sleeper hit with series fans in 2007.
Silent Hill Origins will be out for the PlayStation 2 this May. For more on the game, check out our interview with Silent Hill Origins producer William Oertel.
