Wii Play Tailgates Burnout on UK Chart
Plus Kingdom Under Fire gets off to a very slow start.
Sales were down for Burnout Paradise in the game's second week of release but not enough for Criterion's explosive driving game to fall from the top position on the UK chart.
Both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions did slightly worse compared to last week, with the former showing more resilience, according to numbers from research firm Chart Track.
There was another surge last week for Wii Play, Nintendo's minigame collection that comes bundled with a Wii remote, with the package selling nearly twice as much as the previous week. In fact, Wii Play as the best-selling game in the UK, if you consider each platform individually.
So much for the old. New releases, though, are still a rarity. The only placer on the most recent chart is Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, the poorly reviewed strategy game for the Xbox 360, which finished at No. 33.
Expect things to look quite different next week, as Friday sees the long-awaited release of Capcom's new action game, Devil May Cry 4, which is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
