Super Smash Bros Brawl Does 1M in Japan
Still no word on when the game will arrive in Europe.
Nintendo has steadfastly refused to pick a date for the release in the UK of eagerly-awaited mascot brawler Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii. In Japan, however, the game is already a massive hit.
Super Smash Bros Brawl sold 1.08 million copies in Japan in just 11 days, Reuters reports, based on figures from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain.
Compare that with Wii Sports, which took 11 weeks to sell its first million copies.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is the latest in Nintendo's series of fighting games starring its stable of characters. For the Wii version, the company has gone all out, adding many improvements, such as online play and saveable replays.
The game was released in Japan on 31 January and, after a slight delay, it's due in the US on 9 March. Nintendo has not yet confirmed a date for the UK though it's likely the game will be out here before the end of June.
