Sony confirmed on Tuesday that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be out in the US late in the second quarter of the year.

Neither Sony nor Konami has yet confirmed the date and company representatives did not respond to requests for clarification.
As part of the build-up to the game's release, Konami and Sony are working on a beta test on Metal Gear Online, the standalone online game built on the Metal Gear Solid 4 engine.
Americans who pre-order the game will are guaranteed a spot on the closed Metal Gear Online beta test, which is scheduled to start in April.
