Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Tops 1M
Capcom proves it's not just Nintendo that can make it big on the Wii.
Wii million-sellers are not all that rare considering the short life of the system but less common are games that sell that well that were not developed by Nintendo. Capcom has again showed that it's possible, though, announcing the sales success of another Wii-exclusive Resident Evil game.
According to Capcom, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles has now sold more than a million copies since it came out on the Wii last autumn. This is the second Capcom game for the system to cross that mark, the first being the Wii version of Resident Evil 4.
Unlike Resident Evil 4, Umbrella Chronicles throws out the classic series gameplay, offering instead a light-gun experience built around the Wii remote.
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles was released in November to positive, if not glowing, reviews.
