New Track, Modes in EU GT5 Prologue
Sony adds new features to the European version. New screens inside.
The full version of Gran Turismo 5 appears to be some way off still but this spring racing fans will be able to get a taste of the game.
Sony said this week that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which was released in Japan last November, will be out in Europe by March. To make up for the relative tardiness, the European and American versions will include new stuff not found in the Japanese release.
Probably the biggest addition is a new track, High Speed Ring, which, like the other tracks in the game, will be playable in both directions. To complement the 16-player online mode, Sony is also including a split-screen mode that allows you and a friend to get it on in the comfort of your own home.
Other additions include an enhanced Drift mode that tracks exactly how you steer your vehicle through corners and deeper customization, giving gear-heads the chance to squeeze the most of every car.
Speaking of cars, Sony has revealed the final line-up. Among the 71 cars in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, players will find the Ferrari 599, the Audi R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic and the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG '02.
