Army of Two at No. 1 in the UK
EA's new IP makes a big splash at retail, displacing Mario and Sonic from the head of the podium.
Just like the previous three weeks, there's a pair of characters at the top of the UK sales chart, but Mario and Sonic these guys aren't.
EA's gruff new shooter Army of Two made a belated and successful debut in the UK this weekend, arriving for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 months after its previous Christmas release date. The game sold best on Xbox 360, that console capturing two-thirds of all sales of the game.
The arrival of Army of Two pushes Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games down the chart, but it hasn't gone very far. The Sega-developed Olympics tie-in is at No. 2 this week, with the Wii version outselling the DS one this time around.
There were a handful of other incoming games this week too. Apart from Army of Two, there was Rockstar's revisiting of last year's Canis Canem Edit, released on Wii and Xbox 360 under its original title Bully, which finished at No. 4. Also arriving over the weekend were Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm (8), and Koei's latest Dynasty Warriors game (19).
