Smash Bros Hero in the US, Zero in Europe
Big sales at game's North American debut but still no launch details for PAL regions.
If you're a Nintendo fan, Super Smash Bros Brawl is either the source of your greatest pleasure right now or your greatest frustration. It all depends where you live.
In the US, where the game was just released, Brawl is a massive hit. Nintendo of America said on Monday that the game sold 874,000 on launch day, 9 March, bringing total sales of the Wii game to 1.4 million units.
That makes Brawl the fastest selling Nintendo game ever in the US, according to the company.
In Europe meanwhile, Wii owners are forced to sit and wait.
Not only is the game not out there yet, Nintendo of Europe has yet to confirm a release date for the game either.
When approached, the company declined to give a reason for the difference in release dates and would not even say when it would announce a date for Europe.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is the latest in Nintendo's mascot fighting series. This time around the game has tapped stars from outside Nintendo's colourful workforce, including Sonic The Hedgehog and Metal Gear star Snake.
