Rock Band Touring Wii This Summer
Bundle and standalone instruments out in June.
Outside of the US, Rock Band is a myth, a music game from the makers of Guitar Hero for which distributor EA seems reluctant to confirm a European release date. Inside the country, however, the game is a monster, one of the best-selling games in recent months. So there's no surprise after the news that Rock Band will soon arrive for the Wii.
In an announcement on Monday, EA and Harmonix said that Rock Band would be released for the Wii in the US this summer. Like on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the game will come packaged with a guitar, a drum kit and a microphone. Individual instruments will also go on sales on launch day for those who don't feel like paying for instruments they'll never use.
The Wii version will arrive with 63 songs, five of which will debut in this version of the game. Downloadable content, which has boosted the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions in recent months, is not yet confirmed for Wii. Ditto for online play.
The full Rock Band bundle and the standalone instruments will be released for Wii in the US on 22 June.
