Gran Turismo 5 Parked Until 2009
Prologue's out now, but Sony says PS3 owners have got a wait ahead of them until the full game arrives.
PlayStation 3 owners are suiting up for the release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue later this month, but there's a long wait ahead of them before the full game arrives.
In response to a comment on PlayStation.Blog, Sony associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will not be released before 2009.
"To further clarify," Hinojosa-Miranda said, "GT5 is still about a year away."
That far-off release date is not slowing Sony down though. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is due in stores today, 26 March, and there will be a downloadable version available from the PlayStation Store on 27 March.
Kazunori Yamauchi, the lead developer on the game at Sony's in-house Polyphony Digital studio, will also be in Europe next week, for a press tour ahead of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's release.
