Sony Wants You for SOCOM Confrontation
Company looking for a few good men (and women) to test new PS3 shooter.
Sony's new PlayStation 3 shooter SOCOM US Navy Seals: Confrontation is due later this year, but before then, the company is looking for a helping hand.
In a post on PlayStation.Blog, Sony's Seth Luisi said the company is preparing a closed beta test for the latest game in the popular series. Key to getting in is playing your part at the recently launched official game site at www.socom.com.
"We are on the look out for people who have intense knowledge of all the previous SOCOM games and can also demonstrate their leadership in the Message Boards and Comments section," Luisi wrote.
The new SOCOM site will initially act as a hub where fans of the series can come together to talk about the new game. There will also be a dedicated blog. Sony will update the site closer to release with full information about the game.
But that release date, it's still a way off. Luisi said that a final release date for the game has been chosen.
The game, which will be available in stores and as a download from the PlayStation Store, will be out in the US on 16 September. Sony has not yet revealed the final date for Europe.
