Tech Woes Delay Gran Turismo 5 Prologue PSN Release (Updated)
And Sony is quiet on when it will be sorted out.
PlayStation 3 racer Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is in stores now, having met its original release date earlier this week. The same can't be said about the game's online release.
Citing unspecified technical problems, Sony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has not been released yet to its online store.
"We'd like to apologise for the lack of a PS Store refresh yesterday. Unfortunately we experienced some last minute technical difficulties and were unable to publish the new content as planned," reads a statement from Sony at quasi-official blog Three Speech.
The company said it is working to fix the problem and would refresh the content on PlayStation Store "as soon as possible".
Sony did not comment on the nature of the technical difficulties is unknown. Representatives could not be reached on Friday for comment.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is one of the biggest releases on PlayStation 3 this year so far. Online retailer Amazon has the game on top of its most popular games on Friday, with the bundle including the PlayStation 3 hardware at No. 5.
Update: Late on Friday afternoon Sony confirmed to Eurogamer that it had successfully refreshed its online marketplace, making available Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on the PlayStation Store.
