U Move Super Sports
Does Konami's first EyeToy offering stand a chance again the mighty EyeToy:Play 2 and Sega Superstars?

Konami have finally got into the EyeToy craze with U Move Super Sports, the latest game to get your arms flapping madly at the TV screen. Konami was the first thirdparty company to release a game for the EyeToy, with an increasing number on the way (including Sega's latest effort, Sega Superstars). But today we're going to talk about whether or not Super Sports is any good...
Initially this proved to be quite a difficult question to answer; as with most EyeToy products out there right now, simply trying to get to the games themselves required a lot more arm waving than I expected. If like me you prefer to sit with a pad and just move your thumbs, you may be surprised.
There are 15 games total, most of which are football games but you don't have to be a hardcore football hooligan to enjoy them. You get the opportunity to improve your goalkeeping skills as well as taking corners and practicing dribbling.
Naturally, being a girl, I'm not good at football on any level, but I am surprisingly good at horse spanking. One of the charming little games lets you select and race your own horse against computer-controlled ones, and you have to spank your way to the finish line.
A particular favourite of mine was a game called Hole In One, which has you protecting your precious little golf ball from wayward pelicans that had their evil minds bent on sending you in the wrong direction. Those are just a few examples of the fun games available.
Konami also provided entertainment for more creative gamers with the opportunity to mess about in ther very own art studio, although I think it would have been more fun to stick with pen and paper as this area was quite a disappointment.
I also had a few other niggles; I like to win as much as the next person but in some cases I found I didn't even have to move to deflect a ball, making victory incredibly easy and yet incredibly dull.
I thought all EyeToy games were supposed to have you flapping your arms around with accurate results, but I was greatly disappointed to discover that this wasn't the case - then I switched it to hard mode and it dawned on me why the earlier stages were called easy. My arms are still hurting from tackling those bull rugby players.
Overall Konami have made an acerage EyeToy offering. It's not quite good enough to keep playing and quickly becomes boring. Good for a few hours and to show off to your friends, but otherwise it's best left at the back of your games collection.
