As licensed titles go, Superman Returns does its source material no favours. Some of the key scenes from the film have been rendered (poorly) for the game, and it seems to use the likenesses of the actors and their voices too - both are so inconsistent you'll doubt yourself often. These scenes, though, seemingly have nothing to do with the game itself, which instead focuses on a handful of sundry characters from Superman's somewhat boring stable of villains. It's almost as if EA made a generic Superman game and then spliced in scenes from the movie just to keep leach-tight on the flick's star-heavy marketing campaign.
"Only the densest or the most bored will draw excitement from the repetitive gameplay."

There really is no reason to play Superman Returns and I urge you not to look for one. Christmas may be the time for giving, but the only time you should consider giving this game out is when you've run out of coal.
For shame, EA.
