Video Interview: Nintendo's David Yarnton

Watch this new video feature as we chat to Nintendo's David Yarnton about Wii launch details and brand new features such as Wii Channel, Mii and loads more stuff.

It was a ridiculously busy week for Nintendo staff everywhere, as the company co-ordinated three major Wii press events around the world in two days, with global president Satoru Iwata making his way from the Tokyo premiere to the London finale to add his personal touch to the western proceedings.

Today we wrap up our coverage of the event with two features, kicking off with this exclusive interview with Nintendo's UK boss David Yarnton, for detailed insight on Wii launch, Wii Channel, Virtual Console, and loads more.

Yarnton has been with Nintendo for 11 years, first joining Nintendo Australia in March 1995. After launching the Nintendo 64, he was promoted in 2002 and was responsible for launching GameCube and GBA SP in the Australian market. Joining Nintendo UK as General Manager in October 2003, Yarnton has guided the division into the era of Wii - and he knows a thing or two about launching Nintendo hardware by now. Born in England, he moved to Australia in 1961, and has also represented South Australia in both Hockey and Rugby Union!

Elsewhere on Kikizo, we're spoiling you further with first video coverage of the stage event. You can watch NCL boss Satoru Iwata's full 15-minute presentation; get your first impression of Wii Sports: Boxing gameplay; see an extensive match of Wii Sports: Tennis between NOE's Laurent Fischer and Satoru Shibata versus tennis aces Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski; get the lowdown on Euro launch details; then see out how Iwata 'moved' the audience at the conclusion of the briefing.

P L E A S E   V I S I T   O U R   S P O N S O R :

Our thanks to David and all the Nintendo staff who helped us over the last week of exciting Wii goings-on. We can't wait to get our hands on the final machine later this year.

Enjoy this video feature!
