Xbox Doom 3: New Screens & Video
Fresh screens for the next big Xbox shooter.
Update: New Xbox-specific trailer added to this earlier story, along with our archived Doom 3 video coverage. Aren't we nice?
Doom 3's trek from PC to Xbox has been beset with date slippages and difficulties, but with development at id Software coming to an end and a solid release date in the books, Activision is showing off the near-final game in these brand-new screenshots.
Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id, called the Doom 3 experience "a new breed of fear and excitement" - and so far critics and PC gamers have agreed with him. Since Doom 3's PC debut last year, the game has garnered critical acclaim and nods of public approval, becoming the best-selling game in the UK for much of August.
Xbox owners can look forward to a number of gameplay additions to the console conversion, including full Xbox Live support and co-operative multiplayer - perfect for the much-maligned overly dark corridors that litter the game's interiors.
Doom 3 will be out for Xbox at the beginning of April. To read our full hands-on with the PC version of the game, take a look here.
