Warcraft Patched Ahead of Expansion
More incremental updates to keep you occupied before the big one hits. New screens.
A large part of the enduring success of Blizzard's World of Warcraft is the developer's eagerness to regularly provide new content to players of its world-beating massively multiplayer online RPG. And with the first full expansion pack announced and imminent, Blizzard is giving players a bit more to keep them busy till it arrives.
Patch 1.9 brings with it a new adventure at the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Here you'll be able to play through a new story-based scenario by joining up with dozens of other players for either 20-man or 40-man group raids.
Getting into the Ahn'Qiraj area in the first place will require teamwork on a massive scale as players from all over the server will need to work together to pull the gates ajar.
Following these incremental updates, the next big thing for World of Warcraft is the upcoming expansion pack Blood Crusade, which adds new areas, new creatures and races and raises the level cap for veteran players too.
