OutRun 2006: Hi-Res Video Extravaganza
See every course in Sega's glorious OutRun2 follow-up in hi-resolution, 60fps widescreen only at Kikizo.
In one week's time from now, Sega will finally be releasing OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast in Europe for Xbox, PS2 and PSP (with the PC version following in April, and all North American versions to release next month as well) - a sensational follow-up to OutRun 2 based on the SP edition arcade machine. We've been playing the final version on Xbox and PS2 for the past couple of weeks and decided we just had to show you how beautiful the new courses look, before handing in our full verdict next week.
We've taken these Xbox videos showing off complete Routes A through E of the "SP" side of the game, so you can see the sensational new USA-themed tracks in all their glory. Despite a few moments of rusty driving shame, the quality of the videos really does speak for itself - these are some of the highest quality videos we have ever published on the site, and we're sure you'll agree, are absolutely worth every last byte.
For users on dial-up we've mercifully offered smaller versions as well, but the high quality ones are certainly recommended, as you get superb quality, 60fps widescreen to enjoy. Who else goes to such lengths for their lucky users? Nobody with a copy of OutRun 2006, that's for sure.
It will be interesting to see how well OutRun 2006 performs versus the tragically overlooked Xbox original, now that it's on a range of formats and seems to be enjoying more mainstream attention as a result. We'll be bringing you our verdict on the game in our full review next week. Our preview from January has additional details.
To recap, Europe will get OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast at the end of next week on Xbox, PS2 and PSP on March 31 and the PC version on April 28. North America has to wait until April 11 for the PC version and gets the other versions April 25. Don't ask us why it's like that. It just is.
