OutRun2 SP SDX: Hi-Res Screenshot Feast
We picked up a huge huge load of screenshots after Sega's recent announcemnt of a new arcade OutRun.

Earlier this month at Sega's Private Show event in Japan, the company unveiled two new arcade games of note, including a turbo-charged new version of OutRun2 running on the powerful Lindbergh arcade board, OutRun2 SP SDX.
Being the only videogame site that still cares about Sega more than it reasonably should these days, we hunted down this huge collection of screenshots from the new version of the game (more than forty screens in total with more on the next page).
Technically SDX doesn't look all that much different from the previous arcade versions of OutRun, however the power of Lindbergh and a swanky new arcade unit will mean hi-definition graphics, which you would certainly expect from the same board that powers big-hitters like Virtua Fighter 5, Virtua Tennis 3 and After Burner Climax (the latter, unfortunately, made no appearance at the recent event).
The game includes all thirty courses from the first two iterations of OutRun2, and bizarrely, two steering wheels for two players per unit - introducing a new co-operative play mode for the two players together in each car.
The fantastic new cabinet, with 62-inch widescren displays and a camera installed on each cabinet, positions four sit-in 'Ferrari' cabinets side-by-side, each corresponding to the color of its on-screen car. The camera shows the faces of players on an additional screen mounted on top, although this is nothing new for Sega's deluxe arcade racig det-ups.
Although OutRun fans have already been able to get their first taste of high-def OutRun2 thanks to the PC release of OutRun 2006, frankly we've had more than our fair share of problems with the PC version, and what we'd really like is a lovely, complete Xbox 360 port of this game as soon as possible, please Sega.
Sega also unveiled a new action adventure arcade game called Let's Go Jungle, which appears to be about a couple that goes on a safari only to get attacked by a bunch of monsters, including, if our eyes do not deceive us, what looks like a GIANT ENEMY CRAB. Or a spider or something. See the next page for screens of Let's Go Jungle!, plus the rest of our SDX screens. Which just so you know, is more screens than anywhere else. Even those special Japanese sites.
