Vivendi Sets F.E.A.R. Free
Multiplayer modes for the horrific FPS available to download later this month.
Something for nothing - deep down, it's what we all want. But life is cruel, and most things aren't simply handed over to us. Most things, that is, except Vivendi's spooky shooter F.E.A.R.
When F.E.A.R. came out late last year, critics praised it for its cinematic flair, which it borrowed from Japanese horror flicks like The Ring, and its manic gunfights, seemingly ripped from so many John Woo films. The multiplayer modes extended this, giving players a solid extension that combined standard modes with the game's trademark style. Now you'll be able to experience those for yourself, for free.
From 17 August, you'll be able to download F.E.A.R. Combat - essentially, all the multiplayer stuff from the game. This includes 10 modes, 19 maps and a dozen weapons. Vivendi is even throwing in all the updates that have come out since the game's release.
To get F.E.A.R. Combat, all you need to do is register at www.joinfear.com. You'll be given a free activation code, which you can use to unlock the multiplayer mode when it's put up later this month.
