Still not sure what games you want to get? Check out our quick-look guide.

So after careful consideration you've decided to buy a PlayStation 3, and now comes the hard part: choosing which games you want to buy.
The delay of the European launch of the PS3 was bad in many ways, but it does mean that there is now a bigger selection of games right from the start. Picking from these can sometimes feel like you're stabbing in the dark, so we've done the legwork for you and come up with our choices of the best games in the day one line-up.
Now all you need to decide is how much money you're willing to spend.
Resistance: Fall Of Man (Sony)
Developer Insomniac is better known for its Ratchet & Clank series but for this launch game the team turned the tone right down. It's the middle of the 20th century and World War II never happened. Instead, alien invaders have spread across Europe and you're part of the last line of defence.
Had Resistance come out six months ago, we would have said it looked great, but it pales in comparison to recent Xbox 360 shooters such as Gears of War. That said, the game still offers a compelling - if slightly dull - story and smooth multiplayer modes where you and nearly 40 other people can fight it out online.
MotorStorm (Sony)
Resistance was the big game at the US launch of the PS3 but it's this game, from Evolution Studios, that is turning heads. MotorStorm made its infamous debut in a too-good-to-be-true trailer in 2005. What the final product lacks in proximity to that goal it makes up for with unadulterated automotive carnage.
MotorStorm is off-road racing of the most violent kind. Whatever class of vehicle you choose - and you'll have to think about that, since they play very differently - you'll always have a face full of dust and explosive debris to deal with. The only thing better than pushing a computer-controlled bike into a wall is doing it to your friends online.
Virtua Fighter 5 (Sega)
Sheer fighting perfection is a phrase many people are using for Sega's arcade-perfect conversion of Virtua Fighter 5. Unlike those other series where you can pick up a controller and start hammering buttons, Virtua Fighter demands more from you.
It's not all about bloody tears, though. Virtua Fighter manages to capture not only the mechanics of the arcade original but also its look, making it a sensory thrill on many levels. If you're a fighting game fan, the only question you need to be asking yourself is where to get hold of an arcade stick.
