The PS3 Launch: The Best Games
Still not sure what games you want to get? Check out our quick-look guide.

Virtua Tennis 3 (Sega)
Tennis games have been around as long as there have been consoles in homes but this latest in the Virtua Tennis from Sega is nothing like the Pong you (or your father) will remember from way back when.
The slightly scary-looking characters belie the pick-up-and-play fun that has always been associated with the Virtua Tennis. The series has its detractors, of course, in part because it lacks the depth of some tennis games, but if you're looking for arcade tennis thrills, this is the place to be.
Formula 1 Championship Edition (Sony)
Compared to MotorStorm, Sony's other racing game Formula 1 Championship Edition out at the launch of the PS3 is more staid, but for the millions of fans of the sport that's not such a bad thing.
All the official tracks and drivers are here, brought meticulously to life by the talented folk at Sony Liverpool, the home of the Wip3out series. In addition to the requisite jump-in and career modes, there's also a well-realized online mode where you can teeter on oblivion with friends around the world.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2K Games)
Already a hit on the Xbox 360, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is headed to the PS3 and it's bringing some extra stuff along. The already massive RPG is bigger still thanks to the inclusion of a new faction and more quests in the form of Knights of the Nine.
Decried by some as mindless hacking and slashing and adored by millions for exactly the same reason, Oblivion brings to life a massive world that you can explore and serve as you see fit. Knights of the Nine brings not only a new faction but also all the previous downloadable content released for the Xbox 360. It's not much different from the Xbox 360 version, but considering how good that game was, we can handle that.
flOw (Sony)
You don't have to spend big bucks to enjoy your new console. Sony has encouraged developers to create games not only for release on Blu-ray discs but also others that people can download straight from the PlayStation Store. And that brings us to flOw.
To get the most out of flOw you need to forget that it's a game, since there's not much in the way of risks or rewards. Rather the sights and sounds and the motion controls of the Sixaxis come together as your stylized creators do what creatures do: eat and evolve. It's all very simple but if you let yourself get lost in the experience, you'll enjoy it on another level.
