Will I be derided by the Warhammer-loving community for opening this review by laughing at Warhammer: Mark of Chaos? Begin a campaign, choose the Chaos side and listen to the opening dialogues. Now for those of you who have seen The Brak Show, think Thundercleese. For those who haven't, just laugh at the voice talent.
Crikey. This is some ridiculously over-the-top roaring vocals we have here, that's for sure. It isn't helped by the Empire's forces all sounding like nicer versions of exactly the same person over and over. It honestly made me laugh quite a lot, even if it was unintentional. The music is good, mind.
Anyway, this is likely the beginning of a new series of games based on the Warhammer universe, made popular through the Games Workshop tabletop game of the same name, as played by the people who are the basis for Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. Look - I'm allowed to be judgmental. The fantasy Orcs, Goblins, Elves and everything else universe is nicely recreated in the game and bar some of the insane amounts of rules from the tabletop not making the transition, this should be something to please veterans of the Warhammer universe.
"The fantasy Orcs, Goblins, Elves and everything else universe is nicely recreated in the game."

At times it feels rushed whereas others it just feels like it was created by those with little experience of the genre - rewarding genuine tactical inspiration as much as rushing strategies devalues the strategic experience a fair whack, and comes across as inexperience on the part of the creators.
