Rumble Roses is Konami's offbeat, all-female wrestling title co-developed by Yukes, the makers of the WWE SmackDown series. It offers fast-paced, arcade style wrestling action, in which players select from a roster of over ten wrestling divas - 20 if you include their alter egos - and most of the characters are pretty interesting, in a mature themed kind of way.
These sexy combatants include the devilish dominatrix Evil Rose, the sexy but evil Latina nurse Anesthesia, sexy Texan cowgirl Dixie, busty History teacher Miss Spencer, ghetto-fabulous, fly girl wannabe Aisha, the mysterious female ninja - Bloody Shadow, and typical schoolgirl slash all punk band member Candy Cane.
The girls have their own personality traits and fighting styles, not to mention skimpy outfits that would make the average WWE diva look distinctly overdressed. They all have their own sexy ring entrances [woah, easy now - ed], underlying background story, and reasons for competing.
Great. But check this, the game also features a general storyline, that centers around the evil nurse and her diabolical plot involving the creation of a powerful cyborg wrestler made from the harvested body parts of her victims, as well as implanted DNA stolen from the late, great Kamikaze Rose, who wasn't only a legendary grappler that met her demise during a mishap in the ring, but was also the mother of Reiko Hinomoto and Evil Rose. But all that goes without saying.
The bizarre storyline gets fleshed out a little more the further you play into the story mode, but unfortunately it never really does a good job of making things completely comprehensible. I feel they should have stuck with the individual character stories and just left it at that.
Without a doubt one of the most notable aspects of the game is the graphical standard - specifically, the gorgeous character models. Each character reportedly consists of ten thousand polys, making for some lavishly, naturally shaped beauties with smooth curves in all the right places. And these girls animate just as well as they beat the hell out of each other.
