The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Link's new adventure on Wii is one of his best yet. Find out why in our extensive review.

In Harold Ramis' 1993 comedy Groundhog Day, Bill Murray repeats the same day over and over and over again until he gets things just right and earns the hand of his princess, Andie MacDowell. In a lot of ways, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has arrived along a similar path.
Shigeru Miyamoto and more recently Eiji Aonuma have been telling the same story of the elfin boy and his world-saving ways with largely the same ideas for nearly 20 years. Because of this, there's a definite sense of déjà vu in much of Nintendo's Wii herald, yet it's still one of the best games in the series, and it's the reason that for most hardcore gamers makes the Wii a must-buy.
"While it arrives at Wii's birth, remember that this is really the last triumphant cry of the GameCube."

The visuals, however, are just a small part of the overall aesthetic. What Twilight Princess lacks in clarity it makes up for with sheer scale. You've never seen Hyrule likes this. The interconnecting fields that take you between towns and temples are monstrous in their dimensions, adding to the epic proportions of a story that spans not one but two worlds - not unlike that other classic episode, Link to the Past.
The Twilight world is a dark, oppressive place where pixel-rain falls while disgustingly organic creatures lurch for your soul. It's also where you meet Midna, your mouthy companion throughout Twilight Princess. Midna is never more than a button press away, and she'll guide when you're stuck and give you contextual help as the need arises.
